🌸 Graduation Day at Kelowna Japanese School🎓✨

In Japan, schools hold entrance ceremonies in April and graduation ceremonies in March.
Kelowna Japanese School follows the same tradition.

On March 10, 2025, we held a graduation ceremony for our elementary and junior high school classes.
It was an especially meaningful day as this was the very first graduation for our junior high class, which started just three years ago!

We’re excited to share a special highlight reel featuring speeches from our principal, vice-principal, homeroom teachers, current students, and, of course, our graduates.

Looking back on the 13-year journey since the Kelowna Kodomo-kai started in 2012, this moment felt truly special—one that none of us could have imagined in the beginning.
For all the staff, parents, and supporters, this graduation was a heartfelt and deeply moving milestone.

日本の学校は４月に入学式、３月に卒業式が行われます。

ケロウナ日本語学校も同じ形で運営しています。

2025年3月10日に小学生クラスと中学生クラスの卒業式を行いました。

３年前に開始したばかりの中学生クラスのため、今回が初の卒業式です。

卒業式での校長、教頭、担任教師、在校生からの送る言葉、そして卒業生から挨拶をダイジェストでお届けします。

2012年から始めた「ケロウナ子ども会」から13年。
当初想像できなかった姿を見つめて、スタッフや保護者みんなが感慨深く思う卒業式の時間でした。🌸🌸

On Sunday, September 22nd, at Cameron Park in Kelo

On Sunday, September 22nd, at Cameron Park in Kelowna, we held a Sports Day for the Kelowna Japanese Language School (KJLS).

Despite the light rain, it didn’t dampen the spirits at all! Everyone was completely focused and had a blast working together as a team in events like the donut-eating race, scavenger hunt, tug of war, and ball toss.
It was a day filled with effort, smiles, and tons of fun!

小雨まじりの天気ではありましたが、
そんなことも気にならないくらい、
ドーナツ食い競争
借り物競争
つなひき
玉入れなどなどを集中してチームで力を合わせて楽しみました。

みんなのがんばりと笑顔が山盛りでしたね。

Sep. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 23, Dec. 7, 2024 Jan. 25, Feb. 22, Mar. 8, Apr. 5, May 17, June 7, 2025

Time:

3:30pm - 5:00pm

Details:

12 students in each class

Grade 1&2 (with a guardian’s support) Grade 3 and up
including adults are welcomed Students’ artwork exhibition to be
held at the end of the course (TBD)

Fee:

Annual Fee
$200 or$25 per class (Materials Included)

Fee must be paid by one week in advance by e-transfer.
 You may sign up for one class at a time or for the entire course.

Registration will be closed when the class is full.
