Asian Heritage Month (AHM) is about to begin, bringing a wide range of cultural events to our community.

Here are a few highlights from KJLS that we would love to share with you.
Baisakhi Parade
Location: Kelowna Sikh Temple
Date & Time: Saturday, April 25 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
KJLS will have an AHM promotional booth at the event. If you attend, please feel free to stop by and say hello.
This is a free event with complimentary samples and food, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience Indian culture right here in Kelowna.
Opening Forum
Location: Trinity Church
Date & Time: Saturday, May 2 | 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Free admission, snacks provided
The program will include performances, and KJLS will present Awa Odori by Suiryuren and a karate demonstration.

Family Sunday
Held over three Sundays at the Art Gallery, this program features cultural crafts from Japan, the Philippines, and China.
Registration is required, though it is not yet open. We will share more details as they become available.
KJLS will host a special Mother’s Day-themed craft activity on May 10.

Showcase
Sunday, May 31 | 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Program starts at 6:00 PM)
Location: Kelowna Event Centre
Free admission
KJLS will participate with a food booth, calligraphy display, and earring sales. On stage, Suiryuren and a karate performance will also be featured.
