Japanese Calligraphy Class

Program Overview
KJLS Calligraphy class meets once a month from September through June. In the class, students learn how to use brushes and tools, learn the stroke order, and practice seasonal words and characters they wish to write themselves. Then, after a year of study, we hold an exhibition to showcase some of the works.
Our three objectives are as follows:
- Explore Japanese characters and culture
- Meditate through writing with a brush
- Embrace the art of calligraphy.
We provide opportunities for a wide range of people, including Japanese as well as local residents, adults and children, to become familiar with calligraphy, one of Japan’s traditional cultures. We invite you to join us and enjoy the beauty of Japanese hiragana, katakana, and kanji written with a brush.
The classes are conducted in both Japanese and English. Whether you prefer English, Japanese, or both, you can enjoy participating comfortably.
