Our Japanese language program designed for non-native adult learners. Whether you’re planning a trip to Japan, are interested in Japanese anime and culture, or have Japanese-speaking family or friends, this program is here to support you.

We hope this program will familiarize you with Japanese culture and enrich your understanding and communication.

Kimiko Sensei

Kimiko Wilson ウィルソン希美子

Kon nichi wa (Hello)! I’m always thrilled to see people’s motivation to learn languages. The more languages we learn, the more life opens up to us. Let’s enjoy Japanese language and culture together!

Profile

Kimiko Sensei has completed the 420-hour course for Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language at ARC Academy in Tokyo.

She is also certified as a Japanese instructor, having passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test. Her Japanese teaching experience spans over 15 years, including:

  • Japanese language teacher at Ninagawa Japanese Language Schools, Vancouver
  • Japanese language teacher at Vancouver School Boad Continuing Education, Vancouver
  • Japanese language teacher at ARC Academy Japanese Language School, Japan
  • Teaching Japanese to businesspersons at ANA and HITACHI, Japan
  • Japanese language teacher at Kelowna Japanese Language Society, Kelowna

Satomi Knudsen カヌッドソン智美

Konnichiwa! I have to say that helping people learning Japanese is my passion. I love being in a class with students and learning Japanese together.

Profile

Satomi started her career as a Japanese instructor in 1994. She had oparated a private Japanese school for local children in Abbotsford for over 15 years as a principal. She has been offering Japanese conversation courses at University of the Fraser Valley since 2014. She is a passionate Japanese instructor.

    Intermediate 2 (Online)

    • Mondays 6:30pm – 8:00pm
    • Jan 5, 2026 – Mar 9, 2026
    • 1.5 hours / 10 sessions

      Beginner 1 (In-person)

      • Lesson Fee $250
      • Textbook ‘Genki 1’ $54 (tax included)

        *The textbook will be used for Beginner 1, 2, and 3. You can purchase it through us, or use your own book if you already have one.

      Beginner 3 (Online)

      • Lesson Fee $300

      Intermediate 2 (Online)
